Hello! I'm Helen, the face behind Snappy Hen Photography.

I live in Yateley, Hampshire with my amazing family.  Family is everything to me, as you can see. I have two beautiful children and the most loving, caring, patient husband, who all come along on this photographic journey with me.  I love taking photos! It's my thing, always has been. Precious memories preserved in time. My house is full of photos, its my passion.  I create fresh, contemporary images with an artistic, documentary style and cover weddings, babies and families.

Special moments in peoples lives just have to be documented, and I do love a good wedding! Being a wedding photographer is such a privilege for me.  Being entrusted to capture a couples 'big day' from start to finish, knowing that when its all done and dusted, my photos are what they have left to be treasured for years to come.  In fact, this is where my business started.  I had been a teacher of Art and Photography for a few years and someone just happened to ask if I could come along and photograph their wedding. I jumped at the chance, and went in all guns blazing, with one camera and clipboard and remember having the best feeling at the end of the day.  I had caught the bug! The rest is history, as they say.  I honed my skills, trained, invested in equipment and decided that I would go it alone in my own business and I am so lucky to have photographed all the couples I have over the years.  They make me appreciate photos more every day.

The birth of a baby is such a special moment in any family's lives and it definitely can't go unnoticed.  Speaking from experience, those tiny newborn days don't last long at all and as a parent, you just want to breathe in every second of it.  I adore photographing newborns, its just amazing and every session I do, I still can't believe that this is my job! My studio in Yateley is well equipped with props and backdrops and my hands on approach means parents can come along and relax whilst I capture their little ones in all their glory.
